INSTALLATION DESCRIPTION BRIEF INDUSTRY: IPP (Independent Power Producer) APPLICATION: 760 MW Combined Cycle Cogeneration Plant COMMERCIAL OPERATION: May 1992 EAST COAST POWER LINDEN COGENERATION PLANT Linden, New Jersey, USA OPERATOR: G.E. ENERGY SERVICES EPC CONTRACTOR: EBASCO SERVICES INC. DESCRIPTION: 760 MW Natural Gas/Butane Gas Fired, Combined Cycle Cogeneration plant consisting of five gas turbine generators exhausting into five three pressure Heat Recovery Steam Generators, (HRSG’s). The HRSG’S are connected to common steam headers which supply steam to the adjacent refinery. Plant consists of the following systems that are controlled via the Distributed Control System. (5) Gas Turbine/Generators (GE – Frame 7 EA) – Limited Control (3) Steam Turbine/Generators (General Electric) – Limited Control (5) Heat Recovery Steam Generators (Vogt) (5) Duct Burners (John Zink) with BMS (3) 20-cell Air Cooled Condensors (GEA) with complete automatic sequencing Demineralizer System (Glegg) Export Steam Systems (HP@ 500 KPPH, 800 PSIG, 720F and LP @ 200 KPPH, 200 PSIG, 460F) Electrical Systems – 345 KV, 13.8 KV and 2160 V. Emissions control via SCR/Ammonia Injection Closed Cooling Water, Pump and Fan Control All Balance of Plant Systems - Condensate, Feedwater, Fuels, Mechanical Auxiliaries, etc.
CONTROL EQUIPMENT: Leeds+Northrup MAX 1 DCS with the following components: (3) Data Highways (7) Operator Stations (2) Operator Station Second Screens (20) Redundant Distributed Processing Units (DPU) Pairs (9) Remote cabinets to handle specific areas of the plant. 4694 Total I/O Supplied: 750 AI 280 AO 8 PI 2048 DI 848 DO 585 TC 175 RTD SPECIAL FEATURES: Special "quick-connect" termination cabinets were shipped early. 5 – GE Speedtronics Mark 4 Datalinks 3 – GE Speedtronics Mark 3 Datalinks 1 – Water Treatment System Datalink IBM PC Interface for Plant Performance Calculations |
