DESCRIPTION: The Hyde Park site was originally a Bailey NET90 Distributed Control System (DCS) and the facility constantly has a staff on-site. The NET90 was considered to be obsolete and the intention was for a common HMI platform to remote control/monitor the various western New York sites with the local area maintenance personnel. Major equipment that was reprogrammed for this site includes: Collection System Leachate Decanters Leachate Storage & Handling Source Control Wells Purge Wells Rain Water Sumps Carbon Treatment Filtration Systems Sequential Batch Reactors There were dedicated 56K phone lines installed to North Tonawanda and Love Canal sites.
CONTROL EQUIPMENT: Allen Bradley PLC 5/40 Processor with: Ethernet Communications 376 Total I/O Supplied: 96 AI 24 AO 160 DI 96 DO Application Software including: AI Series Programming Software RSLinx Communications Software Intellution FIX Web Server Software (1) Operator Station (Gateway 2000 NT PC) with Intellution FIX32 HMI Software
SPECIAL FEATURES: In an effort to minimize the system change-over time, ACS supplied detailed wiring drawings and pre-terminated field cables to connect to the existing field terminals. Total system change-over time was less than one week. The Web Server software is installed at this site, however, maintenance personnel could view any of the sites once onto the secure network. |
