DESCRIPTION: The Love Canal site was originally a Bristol Babcock RTU system and there was a staff on-site. With the consolidation of personnel, the intention was to remote control/monitor the site using the local area maintenance group. The existing Iconics Genesis HMI graphic screens were converted into the Intellution format and a few transmitters were added for complete remote monitoring. There was a dedicated 56K phone line installed to Hyde Park; from which any of the graphic screens could be viewed.
